Day 6: A song that makes you cry

Depending what mood i'm in any song can make me cry. If my husband has pissed me off even some heavy metal song can come on and make me cry or some feel good pop song even. The one song that gets to me most would have to be God Blessed the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts which happens to be my wedding song. It sounds lame but it makes me cry happy tears. I don't tend to get very sappy but i feel the need here. The song makes me cry because the lyrics are very true. Before i met my husband i was so lost. I was dating all the wrong guys, i was putting too much focus about trying to make sure i still acted my age and wasn't a good enough parent to my daughter. I had no real goal in life. Everything changed when Me and him got married. My focus is on my family. I wouldn't change my family for the world. I am not very religious but i do truly feel BLESSED to have him and the rest of my family.
One other song that gets to me is I'm already there by Lonestar. There is a version called message from home with people talking about there spouses in the military. I am not from a military family but i can only imagine how hard it is to be in there situation. I am huge supporter of our troops.

(your not human if this doesn't put a tear in your eye)

well stay tuned for another one of my lovely posts tomorrow: Day 07: Your crush

Day 5: A photo of something you really hate

Tough time deciding between a couple things i hate with a passion. I really don't even wanna put a picture up of something i hate and have to look at on my blog but here it is:

bugs:
ugghh i shudder just looking at the picture. I don't know if its just me but when i look at this picture or if someone mentions something about bugs i just suddenly get this feeling like something is crawling on me.Anyone ever watch the show Infested on Animal Planet? If so you should check it out but not for those with a weak stomach.

Day 3: About your family

Well i have the opposite problem today, i could go on forever talking about my family. We are such a unique ,non traditional family. For starters my extended family is huge. My grandma on my dad's side of the family had 16 kids. I have close to 100 first cousins and about 25 second cousins. My moms side is smaller, just 3 aunts and about 10 cousins. I have no desire what-so-ever to take after my grandma. I am stopping at 3....ok maybe 4....5 max :-P  My husband would run for the hills if he knew i wanted that many kids. Every time i bring up the subject of having another child he say's i need to wait at least 5 years before he even considers it. I tell him back: "i'll have one in 2 years, just not with you i guess". He of course knows i'm joking.
I am one of 4 kids. I have two brothers and one sister. I am in the middle. My parents were young when they had my brother but managed to last 25 years and just recently divorced. I have faith for Me and My husband though despite all that.  Now i have a step mother, no step siblings..yet*sigh* . About the same time i was pregnant their was talk of the two of them having a baby. How weird it would've been to have my child be born the same age , if not older, than his uncle/aunt.
So far in my household it's me, my husband, and two kids. I say so far because i WILL have a 3rd...just gotta work my charm. My first born is Savannah. I had her young and things just didn't work between me and her dad. She is 6 years old now and going into 1st grade(time flies). My son is Brayden. He is about to turn 1 in september(stay tuned for birthday parties pics..going DIY this year on food and decorations). My husband Davis is from Tennessee originally but moved here where we met. His family all still lives back in Tennessee so its hard for him and eventually he hopes for us to move there. I almost forgot two of our other members...

(that's Lilly and Bud)

Well again i could go on but i think i'll stop right there and let you all get back to your families. I'll leave you with a few quotes from quotegarden.com:

Day 3: About your friends

This is probably going to be the shortest entry. I had kids young so i don't quite fit in with most mommies and my single friends don't have much in common with me anymore.  I don't wanna make myself sound like a loner because i do have friends and the ones i have are great, i just don't spend much time with them. I guess you could say My husband and my kids are my true best friends.
Anyone else in the same boat?

Day 02: The meaning behind your name

I don't know too much about Why my parents decided on Amanda as my name. I believe they just chose it since they liked it(can't understand why, i hate my name). I'm not sure if the song came out first or i was born first but my dad was a Boston fan and they have a song called Amanda so that might be where the idea came from. Speaking of that song, every time my dad had a chance to embarrass  me he would play that song and make me dance with him so i thought it would be fitting to have it as our father daughter dance at my wedding. The origin of the name Amanda is Latin and it means worthy of love. I hate my name but i think the meaning of the word is pretty cool. I never took into consideration meanings behind the names when i had both my kids. My daughter Savannah's name means open plain.and my son Brayden's means broad meadow.

tomorrow's challenge: Day 03: About your friends

Freecycle

Anyone else a fan of Storage Wars on A&E?? I have always watched that show and some day i am going to try getting into that. I love the idea of getting peoples old run down items and refurbishing them. Anyways i was inspired to write this post about used merchandise.I have to start out by saying i'm not one of those people who refuse to use used merchandise with some exceptions(undergarments, dishes, beds, linens). My younger sister says she is above going to the local swap shop and says it's gross using other peoples used things which i laugh at because I have saved so much money over the years and never had an issue with any of the stuff i've brought into my home. Up until recently i had never heard of freecycle but both me and my husband are obsessed and check our emails daily to see what kind of cool stuff we can get. Some of the things we have gotten are:

-canoe(just got this one yesterday and it was in amazing condition)
-kids toy kitchen
-all sorts of exercise equipment
-nice beige pullout sofa in amazing condition
-tv stand
-bureaus
-bikes
-old war Gun ammo cases(husbands into collecting)

Of course we also stop by our local swap shop go yard saling pretty often too.
check out my links below for some online spots to get free/cheap merchandise.

Unique novelty store

I somehow stumbled upon a neat website collections etc. It is the perfect place to go for holiday shopping especially for those secret Santa gifts when you have a cap on how much you can spend. Everything is 14.99 or less. I spent a decent amount of time on the site and only found one item that was more than 14.99 and it was 39.99 for a wool coat. The site has everything from novelty gifts, household items to apparel. Here is a few snapshots i took of some of the things you'd find on the site:

30 day challenge about you!

Since this blog is pretty new and most of you don't know me i figured i would do a 30 day challenge.
I would love it if everyone joined in and did the challenge as well, just follow along in the comment section.

Day 01- A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself

This was just taken yesterday of me and my husband jet skiing.

1-  I had my first child very young at age 18 and although times have been tough i have no regrets.
2- I live on Cape Cod( for those of you not familiar....that's it right there) but i hate the ocean!
3- My biggest fear is fire. When i was little a hotel i stayed at caught on fire and ever since I've been afraid.
4- My biggest celebrity crush is Jason Aldean. He is an amazing country singer!
5- Alot of people don't know this but i met my husband on an online dating website(okcupid.com) to be exact. My friend joined and met some cute guys from the south and i always wanted a boy from the south(they are very different than most northern boys) and i got lucky and met my amazing husband :)
6- I have the Worst patience!!  I also have bad anxiety...very bad mix.
7- I am a hypochondriac. I use WebMd wayyy too much every time i have the littlest pain and convince myself i have cancer, pneumonia etc..
8- I typically find things funny that are more cheesy or sarcastic. I usually find myself the only one laughing sometimes.
9- My cholesterol is probably through  the roof since i put butter and salt on almost everything!! I also eat Ramen Noodles like they are going out of business which are loaded with sodium.
10- I love making things. I am on Pinterest and am obsessed with it!! I hope to open up a shop someday with homemade creations
11- When i was little i wanted so badly to be a singer(i somehow lost the ability to sing well as i got older) however i have the worst stage fright and hate being in large crowds of people. My anxiety kicks in big time.
12- I work in the hospitality industry at a worldwide popular chain(not gonna name names, however if i happen to promote a certain chain you'll know why), anyways i love everything about traveling and exploring other cultures and customs. I haven't done much lately since it gets tough once you have kids.
13- I am a very picky eater. Another thing people find weird is that since i'm from the Cape they assume i should Love seafood which is not true at all. I hate the texture and smell. I also don't eat too much meat. I could go on all day about the stuff i don't eat.
14- I HATE BUGS. Not just the usual spiders but all bugs....Bees and ticks rank pretty high on the list. My poor husband gets woken up if he falls asleep first and i find a bug on the ceiling ...i wake his butt up to kill it.
15- I love being a Mommy and wife but it just doesn't come as naturally to me as others. I use to tell people i never wanted kids and never would be a SAHM. I am not a cook, i am so not a fan of cleaning and i work a full time job rather than stay home. Its just my nature. I certainly try and love getting tips from other moms so please feel free to share.

Thats my 15...it was pretty tough.I hate bringing up negative things but its who i am. No one is prefect and its our imperfections that make us who we are. Hope ya'll  don't think i'm too crazy ;)

come back tomorrow for Day 02: The meaning behind your name

I got the pleasure of trying out dr oetker ristorante pizza through this site. Here is what i think of the product..
Based on the image on the box i wouldn't normally buy this pizza. It just does not look appetizing to me.  I am glad i got to try this for free and give it a chance. The pizza tasted amazing. In all honesty one of the best pizzas I've had. I tried the pepperoni by the way. The ratio of sauce to cheese was perfect. The crust was thin and crispy. The pizza reminded me of the Celeste pizzas but better. The best part was it feels so much healthier. I didn't feel like i was eating a greasy calorie filled pizza. It actually is healthier than a lot of other pizzas of its kind.
The only thing i didn't like Was the price of the pizza. My local grocery store sells it for 4.99. In comparison its really not too bad.
